Admiral Bailey handed fine after pleading guilty in passport case

Admiral BaileyFoundation dancehall artist and football coach, Glendon ‘Admiral’ Bailey has pled guilty following allegations he used false identity to have his passport renewed.

Bailey was charged in February with two counts of uttering forged documents, two counts of obtaining passport by false pretence, two counts of possession of forged documents, one count of attempting to obtain a passport by false pretence and one count of conspiracy to defraud. This after he was detained by Passport Immigration and Citizenship Agency (PICA) officers after he allegedly tried to renew his passport using the name, Michael George Sullivan.

Despite initial claims from the entertainer and his lawyer, Tom Tavares-Finson that the issue was a simple misunderstanding, the 63-year-old Bailey pled guilty on Wednesday and was slapped with a JA$160,000 fine for his troubles.

Bailey is known for hits such as Gimme Punanny, No Weh No Betta Than Yard, Ram Up Your PartyPolitician and Winey Winey.
