Jamaican songstress and 2013 winner of The Voice, Tessanne Chin as well as Grammy-nominated reggae stalwart, Sizzla Kalonji have both been featured on the Billboard charts after two-year absences.
Chin debuted at number 30 on the Adult R&B Airplay chart with her new single, Love Suicide, released in February via her Chinita Entertainment label. Produced by Blu Jane, who has worked with the likes of Rihanna, Mariah Carey and others, the ballad marks Chin’s first appearance on Billboard since her rendition of The Beatles’ Let It Be (feat. Adam Levine) peaked at number 76 on the Hot 100 chart.
Her best performing feature on Billboard was her rendition of Whitney Houston’s I Have Nothing, which peaked at number 51 on the Hot 100 chart in 2013.
Meanwhile, Sizzla earned his best ever placing on Billboard, debuting at number three on their Reggae Albums chart with his latest compilation, 876. Released via Zojak Worldwide in late February, this is the 26th album featured on Billboard for the entertainer and 71st overall.
It’s his first entry on the chart since Radical reached fifth spot on the Reggae Albums chart in 2014.
876 features singles such as Bad Mind (feat. Jah Cure), Longing For and Street Life.
