KingstontoLA merges the worlds of entertainment, music and art; creating a platform for artist exposure in Los Angeles. Staying true to the original roots of reggae and dancehall music, KingstontoLA is a unique experience for underground art + music lovers. KingstontoLA is the brainchild of Jamaican in LA Kalifa Madden. It is her story: being from Kingston and experiencing the myriad of cultures in the city of Los Angeles.
The digital magazine originated from her love of popular culture and passion for journalism. It has become a collaborative showcase, bonded through a mutual love of music and sharing the story of talented artists. KingstontoLA’s top interests include: dancehall, reggae, global music, breaking news, fashion, art and entertainment.
The magazine has recently secured interviews with No-Maddz JA, Sevana, Mink Jo and Rootz Underground, through music industry veteran and KingstontoLA blogger Kat C.H.R.. Editor and Chief @HabitsDie is also a seasoned Los Angeles based writer, rapper and performer.
KingstontoLA recently began a well-received series called #Dancehall Fridays, where they seek to highlight the newest sounds in the genre, worldwide.
KingstontoLA’s mission is to become a trusted source in music +art, breaking news and entertainment. The goal will be realized when there is a direct flight from Kingston to L.A. #directflight
