It’s official, new york based rapper Joseph Cartagena more popularly known as Fat Joe will be the international headliner for this years Fully Loaded Beach Party slated for Sunday July 26th at James Bond Beach in St. Mary.
In an abbreviated statement from Chris Campbell Publicist at Solid Agency organizers of the event Fat Joe has what it takes to please a Fullyloaded crowd. “Fully Loaded is an event that has alot of energy and excitement and when we began to shop for a headliner we wanted someone with a catalog who was experienced and relevant at the same time. Fat Joe is one such artist, he has been around for a while and still has a large following of fans. His most recent track “One” featuring Akon has gotten over 2 million views on youtube not to mention Joe’s skill and creativity as a rapper”.
Celebrating over a decade in the music industry Fat Joe was born in Bronx, New York and began his rapper career in the early 1990’s. C.E.O of his own label Terror Squad which has produced young talents such as Remy Ma and Tony Sunshine, Joe has enjoyed an abundance of success in music.
In 1993 Fat Joe recorded his debut album “Represent” which introduced him to mainstream america but it was his fourth album “J.O.S.E” an acronym for Jealous Ones Still Envy that catapulted his career and earned him respect as one of New York’s finest M.C’s. The album featured the smash hits “We Thuggin” alongside R Kelly and the sensational Ashanti collabo “What’s Luv” which incidentally made its way onto the Jawanna Man movie soundtrack.
From there Joe’s career began to blossom as more and more artists wanted him to be featured on their songs. In 2004 Ja Rule reached out to Joe and fellow new yorker Jadakiss for his single New York which soon became an street anthem across ghetto communities in america. Joe was once again among the greats in 2007 when he was featured on DJ Khaled’s smash singles “We Taking Over” and “I’m So Hood” which featured the best of the best including T.I, Lil Wayne, Akon and T Pain.
Outside of collaboration Fat Joe is noted for his own catalog of hits. In 2004 Fat Joe along with member of the Terror Squad team dropped their debut album “True Story” with a scorching hot single dubbed “Lean Back” which topped the Billboard Top 100 Charts for 3 consecutive weeks. Other singles like “Make It Rain”, “My Fofo”, “I Won’t Tell” alongside J Holiday, “Ain’t Saying Nothing” alongside Plies and more recently “One” alongside Akon have all made Fat Joe a household name across the world.
