Internationally acclaimed Jamaican dancer, Mystic has become the first local dancer to be certified gold after her collaboration with American producing extraordinaires, Major Lazer recently achieved the feat.
The song, Bubble Butt, featured Mystic alongside Bruno Mars, Tyga and 2 Chainz. An audacious video for the song earned over 40 million views on YouTube, with the single also gaining traction on the U.S. Billboard charts.
Though the dancer has yet to received her plaque recognizing the achievement, she expressed her excitement regarding her achievement to the Jamaica STAR, suggesting that Jamaican talents only need the ideal opportunity to become successful internationally.
This is by far, to date, Mystic’s biggest achievement in the music business, having for years been one of Jamaica’s most popular dancers, appearing in music videos for local acts such as Beenie Man, to international stars such as Gnarls Barkley. She also featured in the official video for Bumaye, another Major Lazer-produced smash hit, featuring Busy Signal.
She currently teaches dance classes via her OptiMystic brand, which has seen her take upcoming dancers across the Caribbean, North America and Europe under her tutelage.
