Platinum-selling Jamaican music producer, Tarik Johnston, more popularly known as Rvssian is set to unveil a bilingual studio album featuring artists from the reggaeton and dancehall sub-genres in early 2016.
The album comes on the heels of Rvssian’s recent breakthroughs in the Latin music industry, having been certified platinum by the RIAA for his production of the single, Passion Whine, by Puerto Rican singer/songwriter, Farruko alongside dancehall megastar, Sean Paul. The song sold over one million copies and reached the top 10 of Billboard magazine”s Latin Songs chart. Additionally, the hit maker made history when another of his productions, Sunset ( Farruko feat. Shaggy and Nicky Jam), topped the Latin Airplay chart.
Rvssian’s yet-to-be named album will feature artists from all over the world, including Colombia, Panama, France, Jamaica, Martinique, Belize, the U.S. and the Dominican Republic.
According to the producer, the project will feature mostly dancehall songs. Though he refused to name which artists will feature on the record, he insists the album will widely appeal to music lovers of all backgrounds.
Prior to his recent feats in the latin music world, Rvssian was primarily known for his work with now incarcerated dancehall superstar, Vybz Kartel and has also produced for stars such as I-Octane,Konshens and his protege, J Capri.
