Devin Di DaktaReigning Magnum Kings and Queens of Dancehall champ, Devin Di Dakta is reportedly recovering following an alleged beating he received from popular American businessman, Corey Todd and his security detail during an incident out of Taboo nightclub in Montego Bay Sunday night.

According to reports, Devin was forcibly removed from the club after an alleged encounter with a dancer at the club. After the dancer complained about the alleged harassment, security hauled him to the parking lot where the beating took place. Todd reportedly used a belt and whipped Devin several times.

However, Devin’s team vehemently refute these claims, insisting the beating was unprovoked and triggered as a result of a song he did which allegedly contained lyrics dissing Todd.

Devin’s manager, Shelly-Ann Curran told IRIE FM on Tuesday, “I got the first call about this incident from Corey Todd saying ‘Mi know you long time Shelly, you doing good things with Devin Di Dakta and mi jus haffi whip him up. Mi whip him because he shouldn’t have put me in a diss song.”

Curran also insisted that no such incident between Devin and the dancer in question occurred, while stating the song Todd referred to during their conversation was recorded in 2012.

Todd has yet to comment on the incident. Police are investigating.

Devin Di Dakta is known for hits such as Rrri Bam Bi Deng Deng and Run Mi Down.
