Polarizing dancehall star, Alkaline has so far made good on his promise that 2016 would be his biggest year yet as his debut album, New Level Unlocked now tops Billboard magazine’s Reggae Albums chart.
As of Tuesday, New Level Unlocked is one of only two albums by Jamaican artists on the chart, with Bob Marley’s Easy Skanking in Boston 78 placing at number 10.
Alkaline’s debut project, which is produced by DJ Frass Records, features singles such as Conquer The World, ATM, Champion Boy, Tom Taam and Like Me featuring American R&B singer, Bobby V (formerly Bobby Valentine).
New Level Unlocked is also high on the iTunes reggae chart, placing third behind two version of Bob Marley’s classic album, Legend; the remastered and deluxe editions.
