Anthony B weed charge dropped

Anthony BVeteran reggae artist, Anthony B has been freed from two-year-old drug charges brought against him in the United States after his case was recently thrown out in court.

The entertainer was arrested in Georgia on January 27, 2013 for a window tint violation while in a car with band mates and members of his road crew. Five ounces of ganja and US$7,900 were found in the vehicle, leading to Anthony B, whose real name is Keith Anthony Blair and his entourage being slapped with charges of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

This week, news emerged that U.S. authorities discontinued the case, dropping all charges against the singjay.

“I have always maintained my innocence, and I feel vindicated that the courts have seen it fit to discontinue this trumped up case against me,” Anthony B said in a statement. “I was not guilty, I did not have any weed in my possession, and justice has been served,”

Anthony B is known for hits such as Raid The Barn, Tease Her, Someone Loves You, God Above Everything and My Yes, My No.

He is now on a tour of Europe.
