Jodian Myrie, the daughter of incarcerated reggae/dancehall legend, Buju Banton, has joined the political realm as she will represent the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) in the upcoming local government elections in Jamaica, set for November 28th.
Myrie, a marketing graduate of the University of Technology, will represent the Hagley Park Division of the St Andrew East Central constituency, which is currently run by Dr. Peter Phillips of the People’s National Party (PNP). Her reported opponent is PNP sitting counselor, Nenna Wilson.
Nomination Day for local government elections will take place on November 11.
Her brother and acclaimed producer, Markus Myrie as well as her aunt, Adena Myrie are both musicians.
