For Darrian McKenzie(DMZ Muzik), the debut of his first project marks a moment of significance as he has always aspired to venture into music production to coincide with his skills as an artiste.
With no time to hesitate, the multifaceted artiste launched his label, DMZ Entertainment Group, with its first project being the ‘Money Mecca’ Riddim.
The ‘Money Mecca’ Riddim had its first release with Demarco titled ‘Dem Vision No Nice’, to be followed by releases from Charly Black, Chronic Law, Silk Boss and rising artiste, Compass.
Speaking With DMZ, he gives further insight; “This project was strategically put together and each song will be released using a particular format in order to appeal to every kind of demographic that our music is able to reach. We just dropped the first song and we have a single with Charly Black and Chronic Law that will resonate with the people of Jamaica, we are excited for that upcoming release as well. So far, the people are responding to the first release positively and it’s gaining a lot of traction in the UK, USA and the Caribbean, which I am thankful for”
Though the complete album is slated for release in September, the official video for ‘Dem Vision No Nice’ made its way to digital platforms on August 5 and has already begun racking up thousands of views through carrying out active promotional campaigns.
The Kenny Gray directed video has also been added to Dancehall Video Delight, as well as Vevo Riddim Nation, two platforms with a worldwide reach.
In an effort to further boost the reach of the project DMZ has also decided to partner with Symphonic, an entity globally known for its record as a digital media marketer.
DMZ concluded by adding; “ My aim was to get various personalities on the beat so it can have a song for everyone. Demarco has released a very solid track, Chronic law has been the most consistent artists over the past few years, Charley Black has experience and with tracks like Party Animal that went Gold, I believe in his methods and his work ethic. Each artiste brings something different to this project and I believe that is the key factor that will award us much success”
