The entertainment and fashion worlds have been left stunned as it has been confirmed that highly acclaimed Jamaican fashion designer and music video director, Dexter Pottinger has died.
Pottinger, more popularly known as ‘3D’ was found dead Thursday evening, face down in the bedroom of his two-storey St. Andrew home from an apparent stabbing. Police said they discovered a significant amount of blood in the room and that his body was in a state of decomposition, suggesting he had been dead for more than a day.
Eyewitness reports suggest he was attacked early Wednesday morning, with Pottinger crying for help and a car later leaving the designer’s house.
Pottinger was known for his eccentric stylings, earning accolades and plaudits with his unique designs and became on of the island’s more renowned fashion icons and photographers. as well as directing a number of hit music videos for several female artistes such as Tifa, Ce’Cile, Timberlee, D’Angel, Spice and others.
The former Saint International model was also the ‘Face of Pride’ for Jamaica Forum of Lesbians, All-Sexuals and Gays (J-FLAG) during its Pride Week in 2016.
