The Queen of Dancehall, Lady Saw is set to release her eighth studio album, Alter Ego in November, for which proceeds will go to a foundation she is championing, assisting abused women as well as children.
The self-produced album, according to Saw, is her most diverse project to date, featuring multiple genres, including dancehall, soca and gospel and features two anthems for women: Pretty Fingers and Me and Mi Ex.
Some proceeds from sales of Alter Ego will go to her foundation, which will be launched around the same time.
According to Saw, whose real name is Marion Hall, she came up with the idea while attending a women’s conference in Montego Bay and has long been involved in social causes, but not publicly.
This is Saw’s first album since My Way was released in 2010
