LargeUp Records, the new label from Caribbean culture curators LargeUp, issues its first release today (April 20) with Busy Signal’s “High Like a Plane.”

Busy Signal, known for his catalog of dancehall classics and genre-bending collaborations with Major Lazer, teams with international production squad Brukkout on the single, a contagious, ganja-soaked fusion of irie bashment vibes and blissful electronic sounds.

The track, which was premiered by Toddla T on BBC Radio 1, is out today on iTunes and all streaming services. It’s the first of several releases dropping this year from the newly-formed LargeUp label and Brukkout — a/k/a Brooklyn-based Dorian Besson and Portmore, Jamaica’s Richie Dawkins.

ABOUT BUSY SIGNAL

Busy Signal is one of dancehall’s most distinctive talents and enigmatic personalities. A true lyrical technician, he first emerged on the Jamaican music scene over a decade ago as part of the Bounty Killer-led supergroup, the Alliance. In 2012, he scored his biggest international hit to date collaborating with Major Lazer on “Watch Out For This (Bumaye),” the lead single from the Diplo-led crew’s sophomore album, Free the Universe. Busy has continued to collaborate with Major Lazer, in addition to other major acts including Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley and No Doubt.

ABOUT BRUKKOUT

Brukkout is the long-running partnership of Brooklyn-based Dorian Besson and Richie Dawkins of Portmore, Jamaica. The duo got their start in the early 2000s, ghost-producing several major dancehall riddims during the genre’s peak years. In more recent times they’ve come to be known for their own self-released productions with some of dancehall’s most iconic acts, including Vybz Kartel, Jah Cure, Mavado and Spice.
