Dancehall star, Popcaan has captured another major accolade in his career as he earned the Best Reggae Act award at the 21st Music of Black Origin (MOBO) Awards in Glasgow, Scotland this past weekend.

The Wicked Man Ting went up against fellow dancehall stars Alkaline, Kranium, Spice as well as acclaimed reggae singer, Protoje in the Best Reggae Act category. It is the second straight time Popcaan has won the award.

“Much respect to all my producers in Jamaica and England,” he said as he accepted his award. “Nuff respect to all the Popcaan fans. I appreciate the love that I am getting from the UK and I will always make you proud, like how I make Jamaica proud, okay.”

He added, “Big up Unruly Entertainment. This is my second MOBO award and I wanna say thank you to my fans. Without my fans there would be no MOBO.”

Popcaan has had a strong 2016, including hits such as World Cup, Ova Dweet and collaborated with Canadian hip-hop star, Drake one the original version of the latter’s Controlla single.
