Jamaican songstress Sade Serena’s infectious collaboration, ‘Dum’, featuring dancehall superstar Shaggy premiered on the FIWI Choice top ten chart this week. The video hit the top ten to rave reviews from fans and music critics worldwide.
“Growing up I have always looked up to Shaggy and other Reggae artist like Sean Paul and Elephant Man that paved their way into mainstream success. To have a diamond-selling artist like Shaggy on my record is a dream come true for me,” Sade said.
The video will be put in rotation on HYPE and RE TV this weekend.
The single, “Dum,” was released through Uprize Music. The song also appears on her latest EP , ‘Jerk Sauce’, which peaked at number 23 on the Billboard R & B album, while the artiste topped South Atlantic Heatseekers Chart at number 1. The EP was released on March 25th.
The remix will be released on Shaggy’s imprint Ranch Entertainment.
“The song has opened a lot of doors for Sade, Billboard magazine premiered the ‘Dum’ song, the EP charted on two Billboard charts, the R & B charts, and it was also on the Heatseekers album chart, while the song made the singles, charts. So it was a great look for her,” Richard Myrie, manager of Sade Serena, and chief executive officer of Uprize Music, said.
She will be performing on a show on June 18th called ‘Colours of the Caribbean’ alongside Alison Hinds and Red Rat in Florida. She also has a show alongside Etana on July 2nd at the Villa nightclub in Miami, Fla.
