Reggae superstar, Sizzla Kalonji has become the second major Jamaican act in a month to have his United States visa reinstated after the artiste confirmed the regaining of his travel documents to the country on Monday.
After dancehall star, Aidonia has his visa to the country reinstated in June after it was initially taken away in 2010, Sizzla says he is thrilled to have the opportunity to perform States-side after his visa and work permit were revoked in 2008.
“Praise unto the Almighty..yes, the U.S. visa has been reinstated so you know the work continues, so the fans dem can look out for Sizzla,” the entertainer told IRIE FM. “Just more fire man, more music, more joy, more happiness, more business, tek care of the family. Big up mi fans dem, big up all of the people dem who support Sizzla over the years, big up mi lawyers dem same way cause you know they’ve been doing a great work…up wi seh!”
Speculation about a return to the U.S. for Sizzla has been rife since he was advertised for the 32nd annual Reggae on the River show – scheduled to take place August 4-7 in California – early this year.
The show also features notable acts such as Protoje and the Indiggnation Band, Anthony B, Kranium, U-Roy, King Yellowman, Jah 9, Jesse Royal, Gappy Ranks and Keida.
