The long-anticipated rape trial involving dancehall superstar, Elephant Man has again been postponed over three years after the entertainer was charged in the matter.
The artist, whose real name is Oneil Bryan, was given a bail extension on Monday after the trial failed to get underway at the Home Circuit Court as scheduled. This, due to another court case taking precedence at that time.
The trial is now set to begin on February 8, 2016.
The self-proclaimed ‘Energy God,’ known for a litany of dance-enthused hits, was originally charged with rape and grievous sexual assault in 2012 after an alleged incident with a woman at his Hillcrest, St. Andrew residence.
